Antique (1919) Joan of Arc pendant by Pageli, 18K

SGD 650.00

It is engraved on the left-hand side Virgo Patria (latin for Faithful Virgin) and signed at bottom right “Pageli”.

On the back of the medal, it has monogram of GA and dated 23 June 1919. It features a lily, a sword, a shield and a banner flag.

Pageli was a French medalist known for a very specific, soft-focus romanticism. Unlike the sharp, aggressive "warrior" style seen in some Joan of Arc medals, Pageli’s work often captures her in a moment of spiritual awakening. Pageli was excellent at rendering the texture of chainmail and plates.
