Peranakan Intan Diamond Ring, 20k Gold

SGD 575.00

Peranakan communities were born from the immigrants who arrived in Malay Archipelago and married the local persons, such as the ones in Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore. The prosperous age of the Peranakan Chinese was around 1870-1920 and it saw the rise of exceptional jewellery, made in gold and intan. Intan is Straits Chinese rose-cut diamond, which is more similar to the Indian polki diamond (cut diamond slice).

I believe this piece is not as old, most likely vintage around 1970s. I love that this is the piece representing the period jewellery in the South East Asian region.

Metal: 850 gold (20k)

Stone: Diamonds

Approximate Measurements:

Size: 6.25 US

Gross Weight: 2.7 g

Hallmarks: 850

Condition: Excellent, pre-owned condition
