Art Deco Gadroon Tank ring, 14k Gold

A lightweight French tank ring, but it doesn't diminish the beautiful design and style of its time. Gadroon is a decorative edging on metal by parallel rounded strips. It was made popular circa mid-18th to mid-19th century, also during Italian Renaissance. Gadroon in jewelery can be seen in the designers' pieces like Tifanny & Co., Cartier and Boucheron. In architecture, gardoon design is also seen in the Italian columns and Paris architecture, such as Eiffel Tower or Grand Palais.
